Dr. Brandi Baumkirchner is a licensed clinical psychologist providing psychotherapy and specialized services to a diverse population of clients.  She earned a M.A. and Psy.D. in clinical psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, after obtaining a B.A. in psychology from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.  Dr. Baumkirchner has a private practice in Boca Raton, Florida, and also serves as a consultant to numerous residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment centers in South Florida.  As a clinical educator, she provides trainings for staff as well as patients on multicultural sensitivity within diverse populations such as the LGBTIQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Queer) community.

Throughout her career, Dr. Baumkirchner has worked with a diverse group of children, adolescents, adults, and families in a range of settings, including residential treatment centers, community clinics, university counseling centers, rape crisis centers, hospitals and managed healthcare systems, high schools, and in the home.  Within these settings, she has provided culturally informed individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy.  Her experience also included crisis intervention, multidisciplinary consultation, multicultural sensitivity training, and outreach/community services.

 

Dr. Baumkirchner is a specialist in eating disorders, LGBTIQ issues, substance abuse, trauma, women’s issues, and relational problems.  Having worked at a world-renowned residential treatment center for eating disorders, coupled by her current work at several substance abuse treatment centers, she has extensive experience with complicated co-occurring disorders at various levels of care including inpatient and residential care all the way to outpatient care.  Dr. Baumkirchner’s clinical specialty areas, combined with her compassionate nature and creative energy, greatly serve clients with whom she works.
